3 Radio Stations is enough for me

The three radio stations I now listen to are 89.9, 100.7, and 95.1 FM.

89.9 is K-love
100.7 is My Bridge
95.1 is KRKR

All of them are christian radio stations. So they DONT play that rap and hip hop junk. Please don't write me off just yet-read a little more.

The question that has been around but not really answered is this: what radio/music should true christians listen to? Well Im going to give my answer. Its anything that glorifies God. Can the lyrics to "Yeah" glorify God? I highly doubt that. I'll admit that in the past I have liked songs that "have a good beat" and said that I dont listen to the words. But IT DOESN'T MATTER! I could say that I don't listen to them at all, but that would be a lie. The lyrics and aura seep into my brain--into my thought proccesses--whether I realize it or not. I call it junk because that's literally what it is! Crap that gets in the way of thinking(therefore behaving) clearly like I should. If you don't believe me, I have made up a test.

THE TEST
Listen to only Christian music for a week.

I think this would work for the Christian and..the not... Logically, what you put your head must come out. Given, we are constantly surrounded by daily struggles and difficulties that try to bring us down. But we choose the music we listen to, its as easy as flipping a dial. How stupid do I have to be? I have fervrently prayed to be given strength to withstand this world of Satan's temptations-but I am giving in to sin everywhere!

Philipians 5:8

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Is the music I listen to of good repute? Go back to basics. WWJD? What would Jesus do? If He were on earth right now in bodily form, would we want Him to ride in the car with us and listen to our music?
I certainly wouldn't.

Matthew 12:33-37
33“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

So I have 6 radio station possibilities in my car. I preset these 3 radio stations twice.
I am not saying that every form of music that isn't Christian is a sin to listen to; Im just saying that I need to be careful as to what I put in my head. I encourage you to think about it too.

Hear the silence

On my face...

are stories youve heard before
but in a different light
whose wrinkles arent the same
as anothers lifeless fight

(and in the face of others)

I see suffering eyes
and hearts that yearn
for something to hold onto
desperately-trying to learn

(still in the faces of some)

I see hate and regret and bitterness
whose ears turn to empty fillings
throughout the years of
yelling and fighting
resounding over the love of the One true giver
screaming and denying
the truth of the One who delivers
helpless and dying
yet still not believing in
the One who is The Forgiver

of all the past wrongs
giving us a home to belong to
of all the future failings
though undeserving as we
of all the internal questioning
now able to know our purpose
because without Him, we have no purpose.
